Lucy is a 17year old female. She is not the stereotypical female in the sense that she is dissinterested by 'typical' girly things. This will be shown through costuming, ie- we see her wearing jeans, long baggy coat, converse with no styling to her hair. It can also be seen through her body language as she strolls with her friend. She lives with her grandad as both her parents died in a tragic car accident. The strange thing about Lucy is that when this happened (at the age of twelve) she had dreamt about it seven days before it happened. She has always had a spiritualistic side to her. This is vital to the narrative as the opening scene shows her dreaming about being attacked by a voodoo 'witch'. This would seemingly mean that Lucy has seven days to discover the 'witch' and save herself.
Character Two : WITCH
The character of the witch is quite complex in the sense that we see her face but do not know who she is until further into the film. The witch is also a 17year old girl however she is the complete opposite to Lucy. When we meet her later in the film she would be the stereotypical 'cheerleader' type teenager. Wearing short skirts, lots of makeup and styled hair. She would arrive at Lucys college as a new student, nobody knows much about her (where she came from, where she lives, etc) all people know is that she is set on befriending Lucy. When asked questions by other students such as 'what school did you used to go' she simply shrugs off the question or changes the subject, immediatley creating a sense of uncertainty about her character. The audience would find out later in the film that the Witch (known as Kate at college) is in fact 300years old and feeds off the souls of teenagers in order to stay young.
SCRIPT
-“Witch” costume all in black. Sat in a forest only see the back of her. Props include; candles, cauldron and a voodoo doll.
Witch: (stirs cauldron)
Witch: (writes name “Lucy” onto a piece of paper)
Witch: (throws piece of paper into the cauldron) Muahahahahah!
- Group of teenagers just walking chatting and laughing
- The group of friends are stood near the entrance of a woods
-Lucy begins to walk through the woods
- Witch sticks pins into the back of voodoo dolls head
Lucy: (goes to put ipod in and feels blood on the back of her head, runs her hand through her head aabd looks at her hand sees blood so she does it again starts to look abit scared and picks up her pace)
- Lucy turning in bed (nightmare)
Witch: (sticking pins through the dolls stomach, being aggressive)
Lucy: (bends over in pain looks about for help starts too run, limping)
Witch: (pulling at the dolls eyes)
Lucy: (blurred eyes loosing balance)
- Lucy turning in bed (nightmare)
- Lucy screams, screen then fades to black.
