Premonition : Opening Sequence Analysis

• Starts with a black background
  • the colour black is significant as it represents death.
• Theres plain block letters appear.
• White lettering.Plain, simple font. The font is small.This has connotations of innocence and perhaps foreshadows an innocent character in the storyline 
• Theres a contrast between the black and white, the writing stands out and creates a lasting impression on the audience
• Theres a couple, they appear happy and come across as newly weds, very much in love. This shows narrative.
• They've bought a brand new house, which could represent a new start.
• Low lit.
• Very dull, dark colours.
• He looks awkward.
• Very cold.
• Lack of sympathy and compassion.
  
• They have a nice car which shows they are perhaps quite wealthy
• The trees are bare which means the leaves are dead this could foreshadow death within the narrative.
• Brightens up. Well lit.
  • Suggests times quickly moved on.

• Her husbands away, could show theres an absense of him during the film.
• We feel this is a regular occurence as the daughter is not surprised by this.
• Piano music is overplayed, creates a calm mood.
• Ambient noise of wind whilst driving.
• More writting appears, same font.
• theres a shot of her shaddow whilst shes jogging which creates the illusion that someone is watching her. Also shows time of day due to a large shadow (must be daytime)
• Shes in the shower which is calm and peaceful.
• The music changes, the mood is different as the music is scary.
• Huffing and puffing, talking to herself, shows shes in a routine and suggests shes not happy doing it.
• It shows that she has a lack of concentration and is dead in thought.
